Specification and SMS behaviour
| Chipset / module | Quectel EC25 LTE module, LCC package, 32.0 × 29.0 × 2.4 mm |
|---|---|
| Interfaces | USB 2.0, UART, PCM, I2C, SDIO, SGMII. No PCIe. |
| Power supply | 3.3–4.3 V supply (typical 3.8 V); GSM transmit bursts require low-ESR bulk capacitance close to VBAT |
| AT command notes | 3GPP TS 27.007 / 27.005 command set plus Quectel extensions. Vendor documentation covers text and PDU mode SMS. |
| Concatenated (long) SMS | Vendor SMS application note describes concatenated sending (up to 7 parts); not tested by us. |
| Receiving SMS / OTP | Vendor documents the full receive path (+CMTI / AT+CMGR); not tested by us. |
| MMS | Quectel publishes a separate MMS application note for this family; not evaluated by us. |
| Date tested | Not tested by us — vendor documentation only (as of 2026-11) |
Fields we could not verify are written as "Not verified" rather than filled with estimates.
Known failures and troubleshooting
- The classic EC25 integration failure is power, not AT: undervoltage during GSM bursts resets the module — check VBAT sag under load.
- The UART is a 1.8 V domain on some variants; a level mismatch damages the interface — follow the vendor level-shift reference.
- On Windows the Quectel USB driver must be installed before any COM port appears.

Questions about this model
Has SMS Deliverer been tested with the Quectel EC25?
No. This page is a vendor-specification summary, not a test result. Fields without documentation are marked Not verified.
What kills most EC25 SMS integrations?
Power design. GSM transmit bursts pull heavy current; if VBAT sags, the module resets mid-send. Use low-ESR bulk capacitance and short supply runs.
