Known failures and troubleshooting

  • HiLink mode is the blocker: without a COM port the desktop app cannot drive the stick for SMS.
  • If the stick shows up as a router at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.8.1, it is in HiLink mode.

Questions about this model

Can the E303 send SMS through AT commands?

Not in the HiLink mode it ships in — that firmware exposes a web API, not serial ports.
